My Love today is being sent to all the people in Oklahoma.... I watched this yesterday unfold and my mouth was on the floor... I don't know if I could make it through something like that... they are super people to live there and have that always over their shoulder to watch for.. . I just am sending my love to all there... and all effected by this horrible storm...
I am keeping my fingers crossed today as we are suppose to get some SEVERE storms today... and we are right in line with that area... Living in the mountains does have a little bit of an advantage, as the tornadoes have a hard time landing... keeping fingers crossed and hopes that these storms die out...
Onto something more uplifting...
So many people asked what Tea Bag folding is.. and also I got quite a few E-mail letters asking for classes etc... Everything happens when it is suppose to I guess... I taught Tea Bag Folding over 10 years ago... and then moved onto other things... Cards, Boxes, books, Zentangling, Basket making, learning techniques on how to create different ways with paper etc... I love creating and love making things and projects that keep my interest. So here I am back at the beginning of paper teaching... with Tea Bag Folding... it is one of the many pleasures that I do love.. truly LOVE making medallions for special things..
The most fun is that they are easy to make, and add so much to what ever you are adding them too.. .
So I have added another page to my Medallion Art blog... and will be offering classes, to those that are interested and also for those of you that just want to know what it is... it is little pieces of paper folded to create a medallion... the size of paper is all up to you... the tiles I have designed are many... in fact I think at the last count it was well over 10,000... so I have decided that I don't need to count anymore... just enjoy them ...and create with them...

Okay... I also did a few Tangles last night too...
I made some tiles that measure only 3x3 inches... and so these first three are done on those...
I had a lot of fun doing these..

This one is on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper... and I love making these look like tiles... Maria is always doing that... have you seen their book??? So many wonderful inspirations in there... and the bugs... love them... going to have to get into drawing them... I just love them.
Maria and Rick are always busy sharing and giving us inspirations to create more and new things... and that is what Laura wants us to do this week with the challenge...
So.. this is what I have created...
I really didn't have my heart into this... I have been meditating for the people of Oklahoma, and should really have taken my time with this one.. but I do have a full week, but will hopefully find time to do one with heart and excess time...
Mirrowing is a fun process... I haven't done it in a long long time.. . Hope you like it... This is truly not a mirror image.. but close enough for this... a few errors, but I am a human... not a machine... This one is very black and white with no shading... just stark black and white...
I had made a tangle the other day using one of Maria's originals as a model... Mine is not 100% like hers... hers are so free flowing and I love them... mine is not as free... but I do love it...
Anyway... I took the one and added onto it with black paper...
What do you think???

Well... I don't think we are getting the storms today... the sun is still out... the heat is on... around 88 degrees outside... a little cooler inside... (no AC is not on... I personally don't care for it...)
Now to make dinner... I have been so absorbed in this all day... that nothing has gotten done... LOL... except these...

I had a little time last night to play.... so I tangled... I have been working on a class for this Saturday and have totally gotten absorbed into it... I am loving doing Tea Bag Folding again... which I had gotten away from for way too long... so I was really enjoying making some pretty medallions...
You can see more of these on my class scheduling... but I had to share this one with you.. .
I use to do tons of tea bag folding ... and now that I have my hands back on the tea bag tiles I have been totally absorbed by them... I also created all the tiles myself too.. . which is also so very much fun...
I call this box the Pink Lotus... the medallion is almost 2 inches high... what a pretty one it is... The box is only about 3 x 3 inches... so it is a fun little box.
This week on the Diva's challenge, Laura has given us yet another new to me tangle... I really am loving it too.. it is easy and fits into so many places... you don't have to fit it in... it just fits in the tiniest of places... Kukes... and since that is a favorite fruit, I eat a lot of them... have a few very favorite recipes too. another subject again.. . I guess I love to wander when I write... LOL.. I really find so much to talk about... and share.
I love the way that Marie Thomas does this with her tiles... and so I tried it... it is really quite fun.... I also had the purk traveling from one tile to the other...

This one is a little bit smaller... and I only used one kuke... but did have fun with all the grids, and swirls...
Anyway... another day... another couple of tangles...
Tomorrow I have a lot of misc things to get caught up on... so no tangling for a few days...

Back to normal around here... feeling good again... Love the kids... but wow... their life style just isn't for us anymore!!!! Do You know what I mean??? So amazingly different... fast paced and never sitting and enjoying life as it should be enjoyed..... but they are doing what they need to do.. that is for sure.
I didn't get my normal things done ... but did take self time to tangle and keep some of my sanity... LOL..

I am happy today... BUT...our son and his wife have been visiting us for the past week... and today is the last day they will be here... boo hoo... so even though the sun is out for the first time since they have been here... I am a little sad to see them starting to gather things up for their trip home... they dug some Sun Artichokes today... and loaded up a couple of bushels of Sweet Potatoes... also I packed up some Pickled Okra, and Pickled peppers... and some of Glenns' Special Persimmon vinegar.. Yummmm it is so very delicious... We have had a nice visit... but as normal.. way way to short... but they are looking for land in this area.. so hopefully they will be down here more often... that will be a wonderful asset to our lives..
The Challenge today (the Diva's )is to use Rick's newest TANGLE... this one is called Schway... I love Feng shui...and generally have the house arranged in a feng Shui manner.. But at this moment in time... LOL.. it is a wreck... stuff is all over the place...
Anyway... here is my TIA for the day..

What fun... every challenge that the Diva publishes is really fun and also a challenge in some way... To find time was the real challenge this week... I had been tangling a little bit here and there this week... but yesterday was a really busy day.. . but I finally got it done...
Yeah... Finally
I hope you can see the string I created blind sighted... it sort of went out of the box a little .... ooops... but that doesn't bother me at all... I love being out of the box in all ways.
I also had some fun this week with a few new Strings that were offered by TanglesPatterns.com .. They are always so much fun too...
I felt I needed a little color in my Zen Tangles... so I added some. I love the way the colors actually came out the way I wanted them for a change... usually I am not happy about them... but today I actually like them.

And then Maria Thomas, one of the founders of Zen Tangles sent this one in... #50... I really got lost in doing this one... I just kept on adding and adding new lines... and new tangles here and there... a lot of tangling fun... and a good meditation...
And then I also did a another free style by drawing a line and going from there...
This one was a real challenge for me... as I have a hard time with some of the tangles... but I got thru it... practicing different tangles in different ways is a challenge...
I had to color in the pearls RED... a little surprise here and there is always good...
WEll a busy week ahead... our kids are all coming... so we will be enjoying them and doing different things... that is for sure.

This week we as a world recognize that EARTH DAY is on April 22nd.... but I hope that there are more of us that think of EARTH DAY as every day of the year... so I tangled this .....
Everything in this TIA has a very special meaning to the Earth Mother and to Father Sky... we all need to honor where we are and to cherish everything around us.... as we are ALL ONE .
The air we breathe, the soil we live from and live on.... the celestial seasons, the littlest critters, the sea, the fauna, and of course US... So we think of that when we get into the car and take a needless trip to buy something that we can really do without... do we think of that when we throw something out that should be used again and again.. Oh I could go on and on...
This week on I am the DIVA, Laura gave us the challenge of using Earth Day as our theme... Thank You Laura for making us look at where we are...
I thank you for every thing that YOU do to help the Earth Mother and the Father Sky... and thank you also for stopping by for a visit... hope that you have a wonderfully beautiful day on this special place that we live... Enjoy it 100% in all ways...
I am looking out my windows and seeing azaleas blooming in Red, pinks, whites, and lavenders... so very pretty.... Dogwoods in White, and BRIGHT pinks... the shiny leaves of the magnolia trees, the wonderful fragrant aroma of the pines, and the other trees just starting to get their green clothes. I love it where I live.. and I hope that you do to... look for the positive in the nature around you... look for the clues of what is going on... Mother Earth needs our help in keeping her alive... our azaleas are beautiful... but they are a month late this year... ????? and that is not normal... the leaves came out first... usually the blooms are first... wow... the earth is actually talking to us... and we are not listening...

Seems like time is flying by so quickly that some times I miss getting some things done on the day I want too... LOL... so today is Tuesday and I am still working on Monday's list of things to do.. but I will catch up today... so have no fear...
Today, I am going to make pickled Ginger... yummmy and also sauerkraut.... which I love... our kids will all be here by the first of the month and I need to have lots of different kinds of kraut... they love it all.. so do we.
Also our asparagus are popping... and so I need to make another pot of asparagus soup... a household favorite... that is for sure. The other way we love to eat them is totally raw... so very good for a nice spring time cleanse. I also made a huge bowl of some really nice cole slaw... wow... we have been eating so very good this year... still eating lots of sweet potatoes too... how great this garden has been to us this past couple of years. Glenn is really a green thumb gardener.
Okay... The Diva has asked for us to be inspired by the stars... what ever that means to us...
Well my very favorite type of star is of course the ones in the sky... we have a wonderful vista of them most nights... and the weather has been clear to see them as I lay in bed at night... I love to watch them as I fall asleep... all of a sudden I am deeply asleep... and it is so wonderful...
But another favorite is a firework that goes off in the sky... and shoots all kinds of swirls all over the place... and then has little ones that spin around... so that is what I have tried to capture here...
I found this star in a bunch of papers I had saved over the years.. and when I was cleaning things out... I saved it again... and so here it is...
I love it... and so this is my fireworks... with the night sky all around it.. twinkling and all in lights...
I had to add my little snail and also because I was looking at Maria and Ricks book on tangling... I had to add a little lady bug... so cute...
I love drawing stars and did this one a while ago... all the stars and some bunzo too... love it of course...

Have to love these tangling papers... I was trying to straighten up my desk area and came across a pile of tangles... have to now re-organize my books on all my tangles... the books are getting high... I think I am on my 5th notebook filled with them... all in plastic pages... yikes... I am a little prolific... and I LOVE it...
Well I do hope that you all have a WONDERFULLY fitting Spring day... and that the sun shines where ever you are.. Our yard is all in flower today... so many of the trees are blooming, and the azaleas are all on color too... a little later this year... we have some weird things happening this year... the azaleas got their leaves about 3 weeks ago... and now they are blooming... usually they bloom first... oh well.. the dogwoods are all blooming and it is so very pretty... the one in our backyard is really PINK... love to see it all a glow... maybe in a few days it will be bright PINKS...

It's a NEW Day! Love each and every day for all the BRIGHTNESS it brings to us... Even though it is a dreary day... over cast, rainy day... it is a GREAT day... we need the rain as we planted sweet potatoes yesterday for the new crop to start for this years divine dining on them... so the rain is very welcome...
It is a good time to Tangle... so since I had some 'extra' time, I pulled out this weeks Zendala from the BRIGHT OWL and created this...
I would have loved to have done the one last week with nothing but circles... LOL... I LOVE CIRCLES... the sign for ETERNAL LIFE... love it... they are not the easiest thing to draw, but when you go into a zen state of mind... very easy... and they come out rather circular!!!
I also LOVE Purk... I think it is one of my very favorite tangles at this time... so this was an easy and fun zendala for me...

This week I had a few things that I wanted to Tangle... and finally got them done!!! First off were two cards... One for our daughter, whom we are very proud of... being a wife, Mom and works full time... she is also getting her bachelors degree.. and she graduates this week!!!! So Congrats Heather Amy.... we love you and are very proud of you... So I had to Tangle a card for this occasion.
It is our daughter in laws birthday and so I made a card for Casey too...
Happy Birthday Casey...May this year be a happy one for you.
I went to the ZenTangle site... and Maria had done some lovely frame work.. so I decided to give a try again at framing... and this is what I came up with...
Thanks for the challenge on this Maria... I did find it very enjoyable and will get some pictures into these... they are all on 8.5 x 11 paper... and will most likely be hanging on the wall soon... I have to find a little wall space first off...
I put some leaves in this one... and really enjoyed all the tangles too... I really enjoyed doing this one though... and loved the way it turned out...
And since I still had the mooka bug... I had to do one with all mooka... I have to say though that I really didn't like the shading in the background.. I felt it took away from the actual mookas... but I totally did have fun creating this one.. that is for sure...
And then of course I had to do the I AM THE DIVA CHALLENGE.... as it is Monday again!!!! Well I am right in style this week... The Challenge is to use a string.... create a box, within a box, within a box, etc...
So I used the frame above to create a box within a box...I really wasn't as fond of this frame as I was of the others...
So I took it and filled it in... it is a large frame... on a 8.5 x 11 paper... but I did have fun with it...
I love to make purk turn and twist... and then I got into some other things that Maria had on some of her frames... I so love her work... When I got to the center... I used a chain... pulling it all together... LOL... and then some hatching in the very center...
I also did this one... I think that I like this one better... it is smaller... on a 5x5 paper... and very compact for me...
I had to put the mooka in there... it was screaming to be used... LOL.. how can you disappoint a tangle... ????
Well... I have a very busy week ahead of me... I am teaching a couple of classes this week.. and also have a lot of other appointments... a fun week... so I am glad that I had time tonight to tangle a wee bit.... and also to share with you...

I wanted to share with you something that I did prior to being on the Altered Alice Design Team... and it is my book called .... Down the Rabbit Hole...
I wanted to create a book with Alice Falling down the rabbit hole... with all the wonderful stories along her journey in Wonderland.. .
this is the Cover.. with the Rabbit and his watch...
Each page of course has a hole in it... and they get smaller and smaller as she travels down the Rabbit hole...
Each page has a little bit showing on the inner circle... and that you can see from the hole ....
So much fun... A favorite of mine... so many hours of work on this one... but a treasure...
I love the simplicity of this page... not too often can I do a SIMPLE page in anything... but I love this page.
Of course the Caterpillar is a main character in the story... right??? So he has to be in a good location in this book...
Each page is a little bit differently done, to capture the mood of the area... I love using paper laces... so I added some here... along with hands and rabbits falling and falling down the hole... more and more...
One of my favorite pages.. I love the background paper... I made it with 5 different layers of paints, embossing powders, and coloring...
Of course Mr. Rabbit is a favorite with his watch... watching the time... something I hardly ever do... but I do admire his need to do that... ??? If you look closely, you can see the paper beads that match the background papers... and the ribbon of course was dyed to match the background paper too.. .
Another Favorite of mine is a Hat bot... this box is large... it holds all my Alice projects... with the exception of my Hat... that is huge... it just wouldn't fit in here...
All around the box there are the main characters in Wonderland... The mad hatter, the queen,
But my favorite is Alice inside this watch... so much fun can be had doing the different things one can do with paper, and embellishments..
I love using the original Alice Prints... and can create so many wonderful hours of things with them.. .
